Removing a coaster is never good when there is so much space available that there is no need. Really pains me to read some of the responses here to firehawk, why would you want any coaster removed when they have the space to keep it AND build something new? I like firehawk, I like vortex, and they need to keep both. Regardless of what happens, I think if we could see the replacement of a less popular roller coaster with a B&M giga, more similar to Fury than Leviathan, I think KI will have one of the best Line-ups in the country with a good atmosphere to compliment it. If the implications were pointed toward an RMC, see my first sentence. But, that goes with the territory for announcements this time of year and only makes sense when they're removing a coaster. Firehawk will be removed and next year's B&M will go in its place, which I say has the strong possibility of being a giga. If I were shooting from the hip, I'd say that the entrance is going to be between Firehawk and Racer, closer to racer. I haven't seen any diagrams of where the Antique Cars are going. Racer is a classic ride that holds guest interest and it's a good intermediate coaster for kids (I think). As far as any of the wooden coasters go, I don't think RMC conversion is likely or necessary at KI. Not only that, but I'm not sure anyone, including RMC, would have the desire to do such a thing. Thunder Run at Kentucky Kingdom is a mirror image of Hurler.^Converting a steel coaster just seems really costly and more complicated to me vs.

Hurler was originally themed to the movie "Wayne's World" when Paramount owned Kings Dominion.In each car, riders are arranged 2 across in 2 rows, for a total of 28 riders per train. These rumors were semi-confirmed after RMC track was seen near Hurler in March 2017. It was heavily rumored that the attraction would receive an I-Box conversion by Rocky Mountain Construction for the 2018 season. The park later hinted these rumors in a video ending with the words Rest In Peace. However, in October of the same year, a gravestone was spotted at the Halloween Haunt event with Hurler: 1994-2015 written on it, which confirmed that the ride was closed permanently. Kings Dominion stated that the ride would be refurbished and reopen in 2017. Hurler did not operate at all throughout the 2016 season. It was closed again leading up to the 2010 season for installation of a trim brake immediately after the first hill. The roller coaster was briefly closed at the start of the 2006 season to be retracked. On April 28, 1994, Hurler opened to the public. The other Hurler still operates at Carowinds as of today. It was one of two identical roller coasters built by International Coasters, both named Hurler. Hurler was a wooden roller coaster located at Kings Dominion in Doswell, Virginia, USA.
